COLD AUGUST NIGHT – Review by the band!

A “Cold August Night….”

The scene was set,

• The Hampton Bowls club was booked (probably against their better judgment)

• The Captain became a “Social member”at the club and encourages all to do the same!

• Betty and Foxy finally worked out the who’s who of coming and canceling attending the gig!  (Well done ladies!)

• Captains “Coat of many colors” well three colors arrived (thanks Sharcola from “Enchantedreaming” click here)

• The rehearsals had come together

From this.........

...to this with costumes!

• Captain was nearly dancing in time

• Freddy nearly arrived on time

• Roger Roger’s sprained wrist was bandaged and ready to air drum!

• 

  Our new “guest performer” had also nailed her role,

• So, Just who IS LADY GO-GO?

• And Mike & Madam Mike Stand had (BRILLIANTLY)  pulled the staging together

• We are so excited, we even got a a set design!)

•

PERFECT!

ON WITH THE SHOW

After a frantic Sat morning & afternoon at the Club which saw the head accountant (Is his name Harry?) get his TV re-set up at the Club, we returned to CDU HQ for last minute preparations.   Even our own Chryssie De-Vinyl returned and did the bands hair and make-up!

But no time to make merchandising magnets Captain, lets get back to the club!

All was ready.  Then some “apricot room” back stage dramas by the band  (OK, just Captain yelling!)

IT WAS ON WITH THE SHOW:

So would the over 200 people who said they were coming turn up?  You betcha.  So Papa George and our old favorite Roadie , Rhino Tripod assumed all “door bitch” roles and yes, the house did fill.  After the band were filmed backstage and some excellent trivia by our own Terry Toweling (Chrys and Tripod;  let others answer ☺)  We got the show on the road.

Also a terrific response to Aqua’s new song:  BACK TO THE 80s! We will shortly have the film clip for “you-tube” on site here that was put together by none other than our own Terry Toweling (now that the internet is back on at CDU HQ!)
